Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has called on Nigerians protesting against bad governance and hunger to participate in dialogue with the government.

Speaking on Thursday during the presentation of staff of office to four newly appointed chiefs in the territory, Wike expressed the government’s readiness to listen to protesters and address their concerns.

Wike praised the protesters in the FCT for their nonviolent approach and encouraged them to continue resisting efforts aimed at undermining the nation. He emphasized the importance of Abuja as the nation’s capital, noting that any damage to the FCT could have serious repercussions for the entire country.

“The government is prepared to engage with the protesters and provide insights into governance issues that may not be fully understood,” Wike said.

“We value Abuja as a critical asset, and its preservation is crucial for the well-being of the entire nation.”

Wike’s remarks came as part of a broader effort to address ongoing public dissatisfaction and promote constructive dialogue between the government and citizens.
