President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent kidnappings of female Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno State and students in Kaduna State. The assailants attacked the Government Secondary School and LEA primary school in Kuriga, Kaduna State, abducting no fewer than 280 students, pupils, and teachers.

In a separate incident, Ngala, the headquarters of Gambarou Ngala in Borno State, witnessed the abduction of a staggering number of 319 women by terrorists.

In response to these tragic events, President Tinubu, through his spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, described the kidnappings of vulnerable victims as heinous. He directed security and intelligence agencies to immediately rescue the victims and ensure that justice is served against the perpetrators.

“I have received briefings from security chiefs on the two incidents, and I am confident that the victims will be rescued. Nothing else is acceptable to me and the waiting family members of these abducted citizens. Justice will be decisively administered,” Tinubu stated.

The President expressed sympathy with the families of the victims, assuring them that they would soon be reunited with their loved ones. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and vowed to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions.

The condemnation from President Tinubu underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for swift action to address the scourge of kidnapping in the country. Authorities are urged to prioritize the rescue of the abducted individuals and to implement measures to prevent such incidents from reoccurring in the future.
