Torrential rainfall, which commenced early Tuesday morning in various parts of Lagos State, has inundated streets and bridges, leaving many residents stranded as floodwaters engulfed homes in the Alimosho Local Government Area and other communities.

Reports indicate that areas such as Abule-Egba, Command, Agege, and Egbeda have also been adversely affected by the flooding, leading to significant disruptions in vehicular movement across the state.

Confirmation of the dire situation came from Ibrahim Farinloye, the Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the South West region. He disclosed that emergency responders from both state and federal government agencies have been deployed to the affected areas to rescue trapped victims.

Farinloye issued a warning to residents of the Command Area, urging them to seek alternative routes due to the inundation of the bridge in the vicinity. He emphasized the collaborative efforts of NEMA, the fire service, and the police in evacuating people stranded by the floods.

The images captured from the affected areas depict the severity of the flooding, highlighting the urgent need for swift and coordinated action to mitigate its impact on residents and infrastructure.
