The Tinubu administration has terminated the appointment of Fegho John Umunubo, who served as Special Assistant to the President on Digital and Creative Economy in the Office of Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The dismissal was announced on Monday through a statement issued by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information and Public Relations at the State House, confirming that Umunubo’s disengagement took effect immediately.

The presidency issued a stern warning to stakeholders and the general public regarding any future dealings with the dismissed aide, cautioning that anyone who engages with him claiming to represent the Tinubu administration would do so at their own risk.

The official statement specifically addressed stakeholders and constituents of the digital and creative economy both domestically and internationally, emphasizing that Umunubo no longer holds any capacity to represent the current administration.

The announcement did not provide details about the reasons behind the dismissal or the circumstances that led to the decision to terminate Umunubo’s services. The terse nature of the statement suggests the administration wanted to ensure immediate clarification of his status to prevent any unauthorized representation.

The presidency’s warning about engaging with the former aide indicates concerns about potential misrepresentation or unauthorized activities that could be conducted under the guise of official government business.

Umunubo’s position as Special Assistant on Digital and Creative Economy placed him in a role overseeing one of the administration’s key economic sectors, making his sudden dismissal particularly significant for industry stakeholders who may have had ongoing dealings with his office.

The statement concluded with an advisory for all stakeholders and constituents in the digital and creative economy sector to take note of the change in personnel and adjust their interactions accordingly.

The dismissal represents another personnel change within the Tinubu administration as it continues to restructure various positions across different government departments and agencies.
