The Nigeria Police has officially stated that it is not cognizant of a document purported to contain conclusions from an investigation into alleged certificate forgery against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State.

In a statement released on Friday, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, refuted the existence of the document circulating in the public domain. The document claims to contain findings from an inquiry into the allegations against Governor Aiyedatiwa.

Adejobi emphasized that the alleged signatory of the document, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, lacks the authority to issue such a report on behalf of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) or any other departments within the Nigeria Police Force.

Consequently, the Police disassociated itself entirely from the document, urging the public to exercise caution and refrain from spreading unverified information that could potentially damage the reputation of individuals or public officials.

Adejobi assured the public that the Nigeria Police Force is currently investigating the origin of the document and the circumstances surrounding its circulation. He emphasized that any official communication or report regarding investigations conducted by the Police will be disseminated through appropriate channels.

The denial from the Nigeria Police underscores the importance of verifying information before dissemination and highlights the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold transparency and integrity in their operations.
