The Presidency has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu is aware of the economic difficulties they are facing due to recent reforms introduced by his administration.

Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, made this known in a Friday post on his official handle. He said the reforms, though “painful,” are necessary to restructure the economy and create a prosperous future for the country.

Olusegun said Tinubu, who waited “patiently for decades” to become president, understands the importance of laying a solid foundation for long-term success. He pointed to ongoing reforms in the solid minerals sector and digital economy as examples of the administration’s efforts to improve the country’s narrative.

He expressed confidence in the president’s team and their ability to achieve the “Nigerian dream” promised to voters during the elections. He assured that while some Nigerians may be feeling the pinch now, the majority will appreciate Tinubu’s efforts in the short and long term.

“The majority of Nigerians will appreciate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu both in the short and long term as he seeks to create a prosperous country for this generation and those yet unborn,” Olusegun wrote. “I have seen it and I know for sure. It is a given.”

This statement from the Presidency comes amid growing public concern about the rising cost of living and other economic challenges. While some Nigerians support the reforms, others are calling for quicker action to alleviate their suffering.

It remains to be seen whether Tinubu’s administration will be able to successfully navigate these economic difficulties and deliver on its promises of a better future for all Nigerians.
