Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed his condolences following the tragic demise of Herbert Wigwe, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, along with his family.
Reports emerged that Wigwe, his wife, and son were involved in a fatal helicopter crash near the border between Nevada and California while en route to Las Vegas on Friday.
Atiku took to his official social media handle on Saturday to share his heartfelt sorrow over the unfortunate incident. Describing Wigwe as a distinguished banker, education advocate, and philanthropist, Atiku lamented the loss and extended sympathies to the bereaved families and all affected by the tragedy.

He continued, “I’m deeply saddened to hear about the unfortunate incident that led to the loss of Herbert Wigwe, Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, and his family. Indeed, Herbert Wigwe, consummate banker, education promoter, and philanthropist, numbered his days. On behalf of my family, my heart goes out to their loved ones and everyone affected by this unfortunate incident. May their souls rest in peace.”
