President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to visit Akwa Ibom and Rivers States on Friday and Saturday as part of his official engagements and political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The President is expected to arrive in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, on Friday, November 6, to commission several infrastructure projects executed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration.
Tinubu will also attend a political rally during his visit to the state.
The planned visit was disclosed on Thursday in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Ahead of the President’s arrival, Governor Eno declared Friday a work-free day to allow residents to participate in the activities lined up for the presidential visit.
Among the projects scheduled for inauguration are the new International Terminal Building at Victor Attah International Airport, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village.
Other facilities to be commissioned include the Airport-Okopedi Road, which connects communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, and Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
The President is also expected to inaugurate the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
Following the completion of his engagements in Akwa Ibom, Tinubu will proceed to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday, November 7, where he is expected to attend an APC campaign rally.
The rally will mark the President’s third major political gathering since he officially commenced his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.
According to Onanuga, the two-state visit will also provide Tinubu with an opportunity to interact with political leaders, party stakeholders and supporters.
The visit comes as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the ruling APC stepping up efforts to consolidate support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
