The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has officially declared that it is not currently undertaking any recruitment exercise, cautioning the public against falling victim to recruitment scammers.

In a statement released on Tuesday through its official handle on the X platform, the EFCC’s head of media and publicity, Dele Oyewale, emphasized the need for vigilance to avoid being deceived by fraudulent schemes.

The statement acknowledged the existence of online advertisements falsely linking the commission to purported ongoing recruitments. The EFCC clarified that it is not engaged in any recruitment at the moment and urged Nigerians to disregard any recruitment announcements not officially made by the anti-graft agency.

Expressing concern over the misuse of the EFCC’s name for fraudulent activities, the statement read, “The public is enjoined to ignore any advertisement of recruitment not publicly announced by the EFCC. Operatives of the Commission are on the trail of fraudsters offering misleading information in this regard, and they will be brought to book.”

The EFCC also responded to a query from a netizen with the username @dollars442, who raised concerns about a training message allegedly sent to applicants through HRU (Human Resources Unit). The anti-graft agency clarified that such messages should be disregarded, emphasizing that the EFCC is currently not conducting any recruitment.

As the commission works to address the issue of recruitment-related scams, it warns the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals attempting to exploit the name of the EFCC for fraudulent purposes. The statement concludes with an assurance that the EFCC is actively pursuing fraudsters involved in such deceptive practices.
