In a groundbreaking development for the world of fashion journalism, Chioma Nnadi, a respected fashion journalist of Nigerian and Swiss-German descent, has been named as the new head of editorial content at British Vogue.

Nnadi’s appointment follows the departure of Edwards Enninful, who held the esteemed position of editor-in-chief for six years, making him the magazine’s first male and first black editor. Enninful announced his resignation in June, setting the stage for Nnadi to take the reins.

It’s worth noting that Chioma Nnadi’s title will be head of editorial content, distinguishing her role from the traditional editor-in-chief designation. Nevertheless, her appointment marks a significant milestone in the fashion industry, as she becomes the first black female head of this influential fashion magazine.

Taking to Instagram on a recent Monday, the London-born journalist expressed her excitement and honor at returning home to the British Vogue family. “I’m so thrilled to announce that I’m the new head of editorial content for @britishvogue,” she wrote, sharing her enthusiasm for the role and the opportunities it presents.

In a parallel development, Toyosi Ogunseye, the former Sunday editor of The Punch and head of BBC West Africa, has assumed the role of president and chief executive at the U.S.-based organization Presidential Precinct. This organization is dedicated to engaging and inspiring emerging leaders to address the most pressing challenges in their respective countries.

Notably, Ogunseye is only the second person to hold this position at Presidential Precinct, succeeding Neal Piper, the founding director, who provided nearly a decade of transformative leadership. Ogunseye’s appointment followed a competitive international search campaign led by the organization’s executive committee in collaboration with Lincoln Leadership.

Her journey with Presidential Precinct began in 2014 when she participated as a Mandela Washington Fellow, and she has remained engaged with the organization as an alumna, contributing to its mission to foster leadership and address critical global challenges.

These appointments underscore the growing diversity and global reach of leaders in both the fashion industry and organizations committed to positive change on a global scale.
