Boko Haram terrorists launched an attack on the Jakana Police Station in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, resulting in the deaths of a police officer and a woman. The attackers also seized arms and ammunition from the station.

The incident occurred around 1:00 am when the terrorists ambushed security operatives at the police station, leading to a gunfight that lasted until 3:00 am. According to security sources who spoke with Daily Trust, the insurgents set two patrol vehicles and a motorcycle ablaze during the assault.

“They overpowered the officers, gained access to the police station, looted arms and ammunition, and destroyed two patrol vehicles—one belonging to the police and the other to members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF),” a source revealed.

Hon Abbas Ali Abari, the Chairman of Konduga Local Government, confirmed the attack and stated that more details would be provided soon. Meanwhile, the Borno State Police Public Relations Officer, Nahun Kenneth, has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
