Following the abduction of 287 students from the LEA Primary and Secondary School in Kuriga, Kaduna State, by bandits, swift action has been taken to rescue the victims.
In response to the incident, the Kaduna State Police spokesperson confirmed that security operatives have been deployed and are conducting search operations in the surrounding bushes to locate and rescue the abducted students.
“I’m attending a security meeting, but the police tactical team has been deployed to go after the criminals by combing the bushes to rescue the victims,” the spokesperson stated, as quoted by Vanguard.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has also reacted to the disturbing development, expressing determination to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped students. He made this commitment during a visit to the Kuriga Village Head’s palace, accompanied by senior government officials and top security personnel.
Governor Sani assured residents that all necessary efforts would be mobilized to secure the release of the abducted students. He revealed that he had already engaged with the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, regarding the situation, and that security forces have been mobilized to rescue the victims from their captors.
