The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, representing the Tinubu administration, has pledged unwavering commitment to ensuring justice for the victims of the recent attacks on communities in Barkin Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State. Shettima conveyed this assurance during his visit to the crisis-ravaged communities to extend condolences and support.

Expressing heartfelt condolences and deep apologies to the affected communities, Shettima emphasized the administration’s determination to bring the perpetrators of the attacks to justice and ensure the safety of residents. He vehemently declared, “We won’t rest until you access justice and until you are safe.”

Shettima informed the grieving communities about President Bola Tinubu’s profound sorrow and shock over the tragic incident, stating that the president “is deeply shaken by this tragedy and shares in this unspeakable sorrow that has shattered the joy of Christmas across the country.”

He stressed the unity of the nation in grief, transcending differences in ethnicity, religion, geography, or politics. Identifying with the families who lost loved ones, Shettima acknowledged the indescribable nightmare of burying families, emphasizing that the pain transcends individual experiences to become a collective funeral for the entire nation.

The Vice President assured the people of Plateau State that the Tinubu administration is committed to protecting them and ensuring justice, despite any perceived shortcomings during the time of crisis. He declared, “We will not rest until we are able to prevent the recurrence of these heinous acts.”

Shettima urged the people to resist sectional divisions and poisonous rhetoric of hatred, emphasizing the administration’s dedication to upholding the sanctity of every citizen’s life. He concluded with a promise to bring the perpetrators to justice and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of the people of Plateau State.
