First 120 Days of Bola Tinubu Administration: The State of the Economy

In an official statement released on Friday in Abuja, the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, December 25, Tuesday, December 26, and January 1, 2024, as public holidays to mark the festive season of Christmas and the New Year.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government. In his declaration, Tunji-Ojo extended warm felicitations to Christians and Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora on the occasion.

Encouraging Christians to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ, the minister emphasized the importance of embodying values such as humility, service, compassion, patience, peace, and righteousness during the holiday season.

Tunji-Ojo underscored the significance of peace and security as crucial elements for the economic development and prosperity of any nation. He assured that the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, remains committed to implementing effective measures to ensure the safety of lives and property across the country.

The minister also urged Nigerians to maintain a high level of security consciousness and promptly report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest security agencies. He emphasized the need for discipline during the yuletide season to safeguard lives and property within communities and the nation as a whole.

Looking ahead to the coming year, Tunji-Ojo expressed optimism that 2024 would be a better one with the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu. He concluded by extending heartfelt wishes for a joyous Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year to all Nigerians, particularly those of the Christian faith.
