Singer Mercy Isoyip, popularly known as Descushiel, has issued an apology to Nigerians and the Nigeria Police Force after she incorrectly recited the national anthem during the Conference for Senior Police Officers in Imo State.
Descushiel, who had donned a police uniform during the conference, gained widespread attention on Monday when she recited the national anthem and made errors in the lyrics. Her performance sparked criticism and trolling from netizens who assumed she was a policewoman due to her attire.
In an Instagram video posted on Tuesday, Descushiel expressed her remorse for the mistakes she made. The video was accompanied by the caption, “I sincerely apologize for the error I made during the recital of the National Anthem. I know such errors are inexcusable.”
