The Federal Government has ordered a sweeping redeployment of top management staff across major aviation agencies as part of efforts to deepen reforms and enhance operational performance in the sector.

The shake-up, approved by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, affects key directorates within the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).

An official circular dated February 9, 2026, and signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Yakubu Adam Kofarmata, confirmed that the redeployments received the endorsement of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo. The changes take immediate effect.

According to the directive, the exercise targets strategic departments such as public affairs, consumer protection, finance and accounts, human resources, corporate services, and administration, with the objective of strengthening coordination, accountability, and institutional efficiency across the aviation ecosystem.

Among the notable movements, Funke Adebayo Arowojobe has been redeployed from NiMet, where she previously served as Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, to take up the same portfolio at the NSIB. In a related adjustment, Bimbo Olawunmi Oladeji moves from NSIB to NiMet to oversee public communication functions.

Within NiMet, Dr. Nasiru Sani has been reassigned to head the Corporate Services Directorate. Airohiuodion Henry Omonzogie also leaves NiMet for NSIB as Director of Corporate Services, while Baro Henry Minabawarre transitions from NSIB to NiMet as Director of Human Resource and Administration.

The redeployment also covers financial leadership roles. Muonemeh Ndubusi Lotenna transfers from NAMA to NSIB as Director of Finance and Accounts, while Dr. (Mrs.) Okundaye Oke Itohan Folake moves in the opposite direction, taking up the same position at NAMA.

At the NCAA, a leadership change was effected in the Directorate of Special Duties, where Horatius Egua was relieved of his responsibilities. He has been succeeded by Mrs. Augustina Erah, PhD.

The ministry instructed all affected officials to conclude their handover processes without delay to ensure continuity of operations and prevent service disruptions.

Authorities described the redeployment as part of routine administrative restructuring designed to reinforce safety oversight, promote inter-agency collaboration, and improve overall service delivery within Nigeria’s aviation industry.
