The Federal Government has announced plans to reveal the identities of individuals and entities financing terrorism in Nigeria within the coming days.

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, made this disclosure during a Sunday interview on Television Continental (TVC), emphasizing that the government is addressing insecurity from its foundations.

According to Bwala, terrorism has evolved into a global challenge requiring international cooperation. He drew parallels to the post-9/11 era, noting that terrorist activities anywhere in the world concern the global community.

“Since the wake of 9/11, terrorism has become a global issue. So, any part where there is terrorism, it is the concern of the rest of the world,” Bwala stated. “That is why it is in the interest of the world for Nigeria to support us to end it.”

The presidential adviser highlighted the migration of terrorist groups from the Middle East toward the Sahel region, warning of attempts to establish a terrorism hub. He stressed the need for international support to combat this threat.

“They were in the Middle East, and gradually they are coming towards the Sahel to create a hub of terrorism. That is why the demand is now on the world governments to see how they can cooperate with Nigeria,” he explained.

Bwala assured Nigerians that the administration is implementing comprehensive measures to tackle the security challenge. “At home, the government is making far-reaching decisions, and in the coming days we will know who the terrorists and their financiers are,” he said.

This development follows a precedent set years ago when the United Arab Emirates provided the Muhammadu Buhari administration with a list naming six Nigerians allegedly involved in terrorism financing.
