The federal government has officially closed its paramilitary recruitment portal, ending the application process for candidates seeking to join Nigeria’s key security and emergency response agencies.
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board announced the portal’s closure on Monday through a statement posted on its official social media platform, marking the conclusion of what has been an extended recruitment drive for various paramilitary services.
The closure affects applications for multiple agencies under the board’s jurisdiction, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Immigration Service.
In its announcement, the CDCFIB expressed gratitude to all applicants who participated in the recruitment process, acknowledging their dedication to national service. The board emphasized the patriotic spirit demonstrated by candidates throughout the application period.
“The official recruitment portal for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board is now closed. We thank all applicants for their interest and commitment to serving with honour, integrity and national pride,” the board stated.
The recruitment process now moves to its next phase, with the board indicating that shortlisted candidates will receive communication in the coming weeks. Applicants have been advised to remain vigilant and monitor their email accounts and mobile phones for important notifications regarding their application status.
“Shortlisted candidates will be contacted shortly with further instructions. Please monitor your email and text messages over the coming weeks for notifications,” the CDCFIB informed prospective recruits.
The board also encouraged all applicants to maintain regular contact with official communication channels, advising them to check the recruitment portal and the board’s social media platforms for any crucial updates or announcements.
The recruitment exercise began on June 26 and was initially scheduled to close on August 4. However, recognizing the high level of interest from Nigerian youths, the board extended the application deadline to accommodate additional candidates who wished to pursue careers in the paramilitary services.
The extension demonstrated the government’s commitment to providing maximum opportunity for qualified Nigerians to join the country’s security and emergency response framework, particularly as the nation continues to address various security challenges across different regions.
The recruitment drive represents part of the federal government’s broader efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s internal security architecture and enhance the capacity of agencies responsible for civil protection, immigration control, correctional services, and fire emergency response.
Successful candidates from this recruitment exercise are expected to undergo comprehensive training programs designed to prepare them for their respective roles in protecting Nigerian citizens and maintaining national security.
