Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, David Mark, has issued a stern warning to party members against anti-party activities and indiscipline, declaring zero tolerance for disloyalty within the opposition coalition.

The former Senate President delivered this message while addressing ADC members in Abuja, emphasizing that only fully committed members would be accommodated under his leadership of the growing political movement.

“There will be zero tolerance for anti-party and any form of indiscipline; you are either in ADC or not in ADC. No mid-way in this business and those not with us, we will not carry them along,” Mark declared with characteristic firmness.

The interim chairman stressed that lukewarm commitment would not be tolerated within the party’s ranks, making clear his expectation for total dedication from all members.

“Those who are not totally committed will not be carried along,” he stated, drawing a clear line between genuine party loyalists and opportunistic politicians seeking to exploit the coalition for personal gain.

Mark outlined ambitious plans for structural reforms within the party, promising to modernize leadership structures from the grassroots level to reflect contemporary political realities.

“We shall reverse our grassroot leadership structures to reflect modern realities from the polling units upwards to the national level. Every organ reenergised,” he announced, signaling comprehensive organizational changes ahead.

The former Senate President also pledged to create opportunities for younger politicians, promising that party policies, nominations, and leadership roles would reflect generational inclusion.

“We will open the gates for the next generations, our policies, nominations and roles will reflect such,” Mark assured, positioning the ADC as a forward-looking political alternative.

His warning comes as the party announced significant growth in its elected representation across the country. During Tuesday’s National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja, the ADC revealed it now boasts 28 senators and over 100 elected representatives nationwide.

Ralph Nwosu, the party’s founder and first National Chairman, attributed this remarkable expansion to the ADC’s principled stance against financial inducements aimed at compromising its opposition role.

According to Nwosu, the party’s refusal to be swayed by monetary offers has enhanced its credibility and attracted serious-minded politicians seeking a genuine political platform.

“The refusal to be swayed by money has helped the party attract serious-minded politicians and build trust among voters,” Nwosu explained, highlighting the correlation between integrity and political growth.

The party’s current legislative strength includes more than 46 members in the House of Representatives and over 50 lawmakers across various state assemblies, with the total number of elected officials continuing to increase.

This growth trajectory positions the ADC as a formidable opposition force ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly as it maintains strict standards for membership loyalty and commitment.

Mark’s leadership approach suggests the party will prioritize discipline and unity over numerical expansion, ensuring that growth does not compromise the coalition’s effectiveness or ideological coherence.

The combination of structural reforms, generational inclusion, and strict anti-party activity enforcement indicates the ADC’s determination to establish itself as a credible alternative to existing political arrangements in Nigeria.
