Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has alleged that certain individuals who lost in the recent elections were plotting to stage a coup against President Bola Tinubu.

Igbokwe argued that Tinubu, who spent nearly 30 years preparing for his role as Nigeria’s president, cannot be ousted through such means.

In a post on his Facebook page, Igbokwe emphasized that any attempt to overthrow Tinubu would be futile. He stated, “Election losers wanted to stage a coup against a president that laboured for nearly 30 years to prepare himself for the exalted office. Not when someone like PBAT is the President. Make we de play. You cannot carry the land na.”

This assertion by Igbokwe coincides with claims made by another APC chieftain, Adamu Garba, who suggested that the same cabals that contributed to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s defeat in 2015 have been activated against Tinubu in the North. However, Garba expressed confidence that while these forces may have succeeded against Jonathan, they would not prevail against Tinubu.
