Education Minister Tahir Mamman has announced plans to direct security agencies to pursue individuals found with fake university certificates across Nigeria.
Addressing stakeholders at the inaugural quarterly citizens and stakeholders’ engagement in Abuja on Tuesday, April 2, Mamman assured Nigerians of a significant transformation in the education sector with the unveiling of a 13-pillar roadmap.
He emphasized the importance of thorough planning in the education sector, particularly at the foundational level, highlighting the need to establish a reliable and authentic database to enhance skills acquisition and development while reducing the number of out-of-school children.
Mamman asserted, “I have no sympathy for such people. Instead, they are part of the criminal chain that should be arrested. We are not going to stop at just Benin and Togo. We are going to extend the dragnet to countries like Uganda, Kenya, even Niger here where such institutions have been set up.”
