The celebration was in response to the recent dismissal of their former boss, A.G Abubakar, by President Bola Tinubu, who announced the removal of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of several agencies falling under the purview of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, including the CAC.
The video footage showcases the CAC’s employees unfurling a banner that bears a strikingly critical message, labeling the ousted registrar as a ‘vicious tyrant.’ Abubakar, who held the position for a tenure of three years and nine months, is depicted as being remembered for a host of unfavorable attributes, including ‘abuse of office,’ ‘backwardness,’ ‘power intoxication,’ ‘lies,’ ‘impunity,’ and a ‘divide and rule’ style of leadership.
The banner goes on to accuse the former registrar general of fostering ‘mischief and high-level corruption,’ ‘nepotism,’ and a lack of ‘staff welfare.’ It further alleges ‘witch hunting,’ ‘illegalities,’ ‘vindictiveness,’ ‘high-handedness,’ ‘financial misappropriation,’ ‘physical abuse,’ and ‘arrogance.’ In a resounding expression of relief, the staff of the Corporate Affairs Commission proudly declare their newfound freedom from these perceived burdens, proclaiming, “Glory be to God Almighty, Corporate Affairs Commission is free at last.”
