In a resolute stance against the rising tide of banditry in Kebbi State, Governor Nasir Idris has issued a stern warning, declaring his intent to sign a death warrant for any informant caught collaborating with the criminal elements.

This uncompromising message was delivered during the governor’s sympathy visit to the residents of Tudun Bichi in Wasagu Chiefdom of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, where he expressed condolences for the recurrent attacks by bandits.

Expressing outrage at the nefarious deeds of informants, Governor Idris minced no words in his threat towards those aiding bandits. “The actions of informants defy all moral standards and religious principles. For a meager sum, some individuals betray their own community by providing vital information to bandits, enabling them to wreak havoc on innocent lives,” he stated emphatically. “I will neither tolerate nor show leniency towards such unscrupulous individuals. Let it be known to all informants that anyone convicted for aiding bandits in their heinous crimes will face immediate execution,” the governor warned.

In addition to his firm stance on dealing with informants, Governor Idris pledged continued support for security agencies battling the scourge of banditry in the state. He emphasized the importance of providing adequate logistics, troop welfare, and other essential resources necessary for operational effectiveness and success in the fight against insecurity.

Addressing the pressing infrastructure needs of the community, Governor Idris acknowledged the urgent requirement for the rehabilitation of a three-kilometer road connecting Tudun Bichi with Wasagu, which has become impassable due to a collapsed bridge. He assured swift action to address the issue, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure for the welfare and development of all citizens.
