Key Tips for Online Registration of Prospective NYSC Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has commenced registration for the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream II, marking the beginning of a seven-day registration period from March 25 to March 31, 2024. This announcement was made via the NYSC DHQ X handle on Monday, providing prospective corps members with essential information for the registration process.

Key Points:

  1. Registration Portal: Prospective corps members are directed to visit the NYSC registration portal (http://nysc.org.ng) and follow the active link to commence their registration process.
  2. Prerequisites: The National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory for online registration. First-time registrants should select “Fresh Registration,” while those deployed in previous batches but failed to report to camp should choose “Revalidation.” Participants who commenced registration previously without completion should select “Login Here” to continue.
  3. Registration Guidelines: The registration process will involve facial capturing through a webcam. It is emphasized that thumbprinting by proxy is not permitted, and details such as Date of Birth, Date of Graduation, and Course of Study cannot be corrected after camp registration.
  4. Additional Instructions: Prospective corps members serving in the Armed Forces should indicate their status and upload relevant documents during registration. Married female corps members seeking marital concessions are also required to upload marital documents.
  5. Links for Verification: The NYSC Telegram handle provided links for checking the graduate list, Senate list, and accredited registration centers to facilitate the registration process.

Quoting from the NYSC Telegram handle:

“To check the graduate list – https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc4/CheckInstitutionCoursesPCMs.aspx

“To check the Senate list – https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/VerifySenateLists.aspx

“To check the accredited centre for registration – https://bit.ly/nysc_cbo_list

“Registration Link – https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc3”

NYSC urged prospective applicants to utilize verified cafes for registration and advised careful scrutiny of details before submission, as certain details cannot be easily edited once submitted.

Established by the Nigerian government in 1973, NYSC aims to foster national unity by deploying graduates under 30 to various states for community development projects and national service activities. Participation in NYSC is mandatory for all Nigerian graduates under the age of 30.
