The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has set February 27 and 28 as the dates for a two-day nationwide mass protest, aimed at addressing the current hardships experienced by Nigerians. This announcement was made by the National President of NLC, Joe Ajaero, during a press conference at Labour House, Abuja.
The protest is intended to press the demands stemming from the ongoing challenges faced by citizens across the country. It follows a Memorandum of Understanding reached on October 2, 2023, between labour leaders and government representatives, which encompassed a 16-point agreement.
The agreement was forged to address the plight of the masses, particularly in response to issues such as the removal of fuel subsidies, the devaluation of the naira, inflation, and insecurity. However, with these concerns persisting, the NLC has decided to mobilize for nationwide action.
