Amidst ongoing speculations about the possible defection of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, has issued a reminder of his leadership within the party. Ganduje emphasized that once individuals pledge allegiance to the APC, including Kwankwaso, they automatically become his followers.

Addressing a gathering of APC supporters in Kano, Ganduje underscored his position as the most significant figure within the ruling party, stating, “If you are an APC membership card holder, you are a subordinate and follower of the national leader.” He sought to allay any concerns among party members, urging them to remain calm and welcome potential defectors.

Ganduje clarified, “Don’t be afraid if someone comes to your house to get one thing or the other. For you to go to his house looking for anything and for him to come to your house, which one do you prefer?” The APC National Chairman encouraged unity and solidarity among party members, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the APC.

The former Governor of Kano State welcomed the prospect of new members joining the party, extending invitations to individuals, including Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. Despite active engagements with stakeholders and an invitation to join the APC, Governor Yusuf declined, citing the absence of a formal communication channel.

Ganduje’s visit to Kano has been marked by interactions with party stakeholders and supporters, reinforcing the APC’s presence in the state. The unfolding political dynamics raise questions about potential realignments and power shifts within the Nigerian political landscape. Stay tuned for further developments on this evolving political story.
