FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Announces New C-of-O Fees for Abuja Land Plots

In his New Year message on Monday, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, outlined his administration’s commitment to improving the lifestyle of FCT residents through focused developmental projects. Encouraging collaboration from the community, Wike urged residents to actively participate in the implementation of these initiatives.

Identifying key areas of emphasis, Wike highlighted infrastructure development, economic empowerment, social welfare, sustainability, community engagement, and security as pivotal aspects of his administration’s agenda. The Minister expressed his dedication to aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the need for collective effort in realizing developmental goals.

Wike urged residents to support the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) by paying taxes promptly, emphasizing the role of financial contributions in building a stronger, more prosperous, and harmonious territory. He underlined the significance of adherence to the Abuja Masterplan and committed to removing shanties and slums as part of urban planning and renewal efforts.

The Minister’s vision for 2024 encompasses accelerating infrastructure development, including road construction and the re-opening of the Abuja Metro System. Economic empowerment initiatives will focus on creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, with special attention given to the untapped potential of the tourism sector.

Social welfare programs will prioritize healthcare, education, and housing, ensuring access to essential services and improving living conditions for all residents. Wike emphasized sustainable development through green initiatives, waste management, and renewable energy projects.

Community engagement and inclusivity were identified as crucial components of the administration’s strategy, with a commitment to prioritize dialogue and collaboration with diverse communities to address their needs effectively.

Highlighting security as a top priority, Wike reassured residents of the Administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring their well-being. He called on residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing necessary information to maintain the safety of the FCT.

The Minister urged residents to rally behind and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aligning its transformative vision with collective aspirations for a better Nigeria and a Federal Capital Territory that all can take pride in. Wike wished residents a joyful, peaceful, and prosperous New Year, expressing confidence in the positive changes that the year ahead holds.
