The Police Service Commission (PSC) has issued a statement debunking a viral social media message that claimed the commission was collecting N2,000 from prospective candidates for the Constable cadre recruitment screening exercise into the Nigeria Police Force.
In the statement signed by the spokesperson of the commission, Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC refuted any monetary request or payment for the ongoing recruitment process. The commission emphasized that the recruitment exercise is entirely free, transparent, and devoid of any fees at any stage.
The PSC attributed the misinformation to fraudsters and cautioned the public against falling victim to scams orchestrated by criminals impersonating the commission. Ani reiterated that successful candidates would receive official messages from the commission containing detailed information on the screening exercise requirements.
The statement warned against the interference of fraudsters in the recruitment exercise and assured the public that the PSC is committed to conducting a merit-based and transparent process in line with the principles of Federal Character.
The Police Recruitment Board is actively communicating with successful candidates to provide necessary details for the screening exercise, and the commission affirmed its dedication to ensuring that the recruitment outcome meets international standards.
