Femi Fani-Kayode has expressed appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu following his appointment as Nigeria’s ambassador to Germany.
The former aviation minister reacted after the Nigerian government announced a fresh round of diplomatic postings involving dozens of career and non-career ambassadors.
In a statement issued on Friday by the presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, it was disclosed that President Tinubu approved the deployment of 31 career ambassadors and 34 non-career ambassadors to various countries as well as the United Nations.
According to the statement, Fani-Kayode has been posted to Germany, while former presidential aide Reno Omokri will serve as Nigeria’s ambassador to Mexico.
Reacting to the development in a post on his X account, Fani-Kayode thanked God and expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for what he described as a great honour.
“I give God the glory for my posting as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, and I thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this great honour that he has bestowed upon me,” he wrote.
He added that he felt humbled by the appointment and prayed for divine guidance as he prepares to assume the diplomatic role.
Fani-Kayode also prayed for peace, blessings and protection for Nigeria, expressing hope that his new assignment would contribute to the country’s progress on the international stage.
