Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has accused opposition parties of fueling unrest and political instability in the state, claiming that some factions within the opposition are uncomfortable with the ongoing peace and stability.
Yusuf made these statements on Wednesday after the state executive council meeting, following a recent violent clash between suspected political thugs from opposing groups.
According to the governor, intelligence reports have revealed the identities of individuals behind the disturbances, and he vowed to take decisive action against political violence. He said, “Certain elements within the opposition, who are uncomfortable with the steady development, peace, and stability in the state, are trying to provoke unnecessary crises.”
Yusuf assured that the state government would collaborate with security agencies to tackle the activities of those intending to disrupt the peace. “We will confront these challenges with equal force, and we will not tolerate any attempts to disrupt the enduring peace and tranquility in the state,” he emphasized.
