The Presidency has dismissed a viral video alleging that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has converted from Islam to Christianity.
The clarification was made by the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Segun Dada, who described the claim circulating on 𝕏 as false and misleading.
In the eight-minute video, Tinubu was alleged to have embraced Christianity during a church gathering, sparking reactions online.
Reacting to the development, Dada urged Nigerians to ignore the video, insisting that the President remains a Muslim.
“Please disregard the video circulating claiming PBAT has converted. It is a lie,” Dada stated.
He added that Tinubu has consistently practised Islam while maintaining mutual respect and support for his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who is a pastor.
“President Tinubu has always been a Muslim, while proudly supporting his wife, who is a Pastor. This unique interfaith harmony in his own home is what he brings to national leadership, which is unity and not conversion,” he added.
