Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has expressed deep condolences to former governor Nasir El-Rufai and his family over the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai.
In a statement issued on Friday, March 27, 2026, Sani described the late matriarch as a woman of exceptional character, marked by grace, moral clarity, and quiet strength. He commended her life of compassion and generosity, noting that she consistently extended kindness to those in need and served as a source of guidance and reconciliation within her community.
The governor further portrayed Hajiya Umma as a devoted mother whose life reflected humility, patience, and unwavering faith. According to him, her legacy is defined by selfless service and a deep commitment to uplifting others.
Sani also conveyed his solidarity with the bereaved family during what he described as a painful period of loss, offering prayers for strength and comfort.
“In this hour of grief, I stand in solemn solidarity with the El-Rufai family, praying that Almighty Allah will forgive her shortcomings, accept her righteous deeds, and grant her eternal repose in Aljannatul Firdaus. May He comfort the bereaved and grant them fortitude to endure this profound loss. Ameen,” the statement read.
