Renowned Canadian singer Celine Dion has expressed her unwavering determination to continue performing despite her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome.
During an interview with Hoda Kotb on the Today Show, the 56-year-old vocalist vowed that she would return to live performances, even if it meant overcoming significant challenges.
“I’m going to go back on stage, even if I have to crawl. Even if I have to talk with my hands, I will. I will,” she declared.
Dion disclosed that she had been silently combating Stiff Person Syndrome for 17 years before deciding to make it public knowledge. The singer, who first disclosed her diagnosis in 2022, admitted to experiencing symptoms since 2008.
Describing the debilitating effects of the syndrome, Dion revealed that it often feels like she’s “being strangled.” Additionally, she frequently suffers from cramps and has even endured broken ribs due to the condition.
