President Bola Tinubu is expected to inaugurate members of his 2027 Presidential Campaign Council on Wednesday, October 14, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) intensifies preparations for the next general election.

The inauguration is scheduled to take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

The ceremony follows the party’s release of an updated list of members of the campaign council, which features several serving governors, federal lawmakers, ministers and other prominent political figures.

Among those included are the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke; Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo; and former Minister of Works Babatunde Fashola.

Tinubu will serve as chairman of the council, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda appointed as first and second vice chairmen, respectively.

Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari has been named Director-General of the campaign council, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as secretary.

In announcing the revised list, Morka said the council’s leadership had been scheduled to gather for the inauguration.

“The All Progressives Congress has released an updated list of membership of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) to be inaugurated on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 11:00 am, at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja,” the statement read.

He added that attendance at the ceremony would be restricted to the heads of the council’s various directorates.

“Please note that only the leadership of the various Directorates of the Presidential Campaign Council are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony,” Morka stated.

Other key figures appointed to the council include Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who are among the vice chairmen.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu have been named deputy directors-general. Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole will oversee mobilisation.

The President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, will supervise administration, while Ibrahim Masari has been assigned responsibility for logistics and operations.

Former House of Representatives Speaker Aminu Masari will serve as Deputy Director-General for Parliament Mobilisation, while the Minister of Works, David Umahi, will coordinate infrastructure mobilisation and sensitisation.

James Faleke, who represents Agege Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has been appointed to oversee election planning, coordination and monitoring.

The APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, and the President’s Special Adviser on Policy Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman, will serve as assistant secretaries.

The campaign council also features coordinators and co-coordinators across the country’s six geopolitical zones, alongside political leaders assigned responsibilities at the state level.

Governors named as state campaign coordinators include Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra, Babagana Zulum of Borno, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Abba Yusuf of Kano, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun and Ademola Adeleke of Osun.

Wike will coordinate campaign activities in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, while Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has been assigned to lead the campaign in his state.

The council’s advisory team includes former APC national chairmen Adebisi Akande and Abdullahi Adamu, former Ogun State governors Ibikunle Amosun and Segun Osoba, and former Osun State Deputy Governor Iyiola Omisore.

Other advisers include former Gombe State Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and former Minister of Finance Wale Edun.

In the council’s directorates, Faleke will serve as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination, Monitoring and Mobilisation, supported by Stella Okotete and Abdullahi Garba Ramat as secretaries.

Aminu Masari will head the General Logistics and Operations Directorate, with Adeniyi Tinubu and Yakub Bashir Bello as deputies and Professor Kabiru Isa as secretary.

Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Betta Edu has also been appointed to lead the Women Mobilisation Directorate.

The inauguration marks a further step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with the campaign structure bringing together party officials, elected representatives and political figures from across the country.
