In an effort to directly evaluate healthcare service efficiency, the Chairman of the Hospital Management Board (HMB), Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, led an impromptu inspection at General Hospital, Ore.

The unexpected visit, accompanied by officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Police, aimed to review the hospital’s infrastructure and pinpoint urgent areas needing intervention.

The surprise visit took hospital personnel and management unawares, allowing for an unfiltered assessment of daily operations. Speaking on the exercise, Dr. Fasoranti highlighted the necessity of such visits in gaining an accurate understanding of conditions within medical facilities.

“We cannot depend only on secondhand reports; we must observe firsthand. This is the most effective way to make strategic decisions that lead to tangible improvements,” he asserted.

During the inspection, the team interacted with healthcare workers and examined key operational setbacks, particularly issues surrounding the preservation of bodies in the morgue, which has been a major concern. Dr. Fasoranti assured that swift action would be taken in coordination with the Attorney General and the Ministry of Health to resolve the matter.

“We acknowledge the seriousness of the morgue situation, and I assure you that appropriate steps will be taken without delay,” he emphasized.

Dr. Fasoranti also reaffirmed the HMB’s dedication to accountability and operational efficiency, stressing that all relevant authorities would be held responsible for ensuring quality service delivery.

“The welfare of our people remains our utmost concern. We will uphold the highest standards across all healthcare institutions,” he declared.

Under his leadership, the HMB continues to enhance hospital administration by promoting transparency, responsibility, and improved patient care. His proactive approach has earned widespread praise, reinforcing his dedication to elevating healthcare standards in Ondo State.

With such hands-on governance, the residents of Ondo State can be assured of ongoing improvements in the healthcare sector, driven by an unwavering commitment to excellence.
