The Kano State Police Command has issued a security alert to residents, cautioning them against public gatherings due to intelligence reports of a potential terrorist threat in the state.
In a statement released on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Kiyawa, revealed that suspected terrorists were planning attacks on crowded areas and strategic locations across Kano State.
“The Kano State Police Command, in liaison with other security agencies, has received intelligence reports of suspected terrorists planning to launch attacks on public gatherings in strategic locations within Kano State,” Kiyawa stated.
He urged residents to exercise caution and avoid crowded places to enable security operatives to effectively neutralize any threats.
“In response, we hereby urge residents to exercise caution and avoid crowded places and environments until further notice as a preventive measure to enable security operatives identify and dislodge possible attackers,” Kiyawa added.
The police assured the public that all necessary security measures were being taken to ensure the safety of residents and maintain peace in the state.
