NECO Introduces ₦50,000 Fee for Certificate Reprints, Sets New Guidelines for Result Corrections

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced that candidates seeking to reprint their certificates will now be required to pay a fee of ₦50,000.

This was disclosed by NECO Registrar, Dantani Wushishi, in a statement released in Minna, Niger State.

Wushishi explained that the new fee for certificate reprints will be subject to periodic reviews. NECO also emphasized that requests for certificate reprints must be made within one year from the original issuance date, as the council will not process such requests beyond this period.

In addition to the reprint policy, NECO has introduced a new one-month deadline for candidates wishing to correct errors on their results. The deadline begins from the official release date of the results, according to the council.

Guide to Checking 2024 NECO SSCE Results

Candidates looking to check their 2024 NECO Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results must follow a specific process. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you access your results.

Requirements

Ensure you have the following details ready before proceeding:

  • NECO Examination Number
  • Examination Year (e.g., 2024)
  • A valid email address
  • A NECO Result Checking Token (instructions for purchasing the token are provided below)

Step 1: Purchase Your NECO Result Checking Token

Before you can access your results, you’ll need to purchase a NECO Result Checking Token, which has replaced the old scratch card system. To buy the token, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the NECO Results website: https://result.neco.gov.ng.
  2. Click on ‘Purchase Token’.
  3. If you have an account, log in using your email and password. If not, create an account by clicking ‘Register’ and providing your details.
  4. After logging in, click on ‘Purchase Token’ and follow the payment instructions.
  5. Once payment is successful, the token will be available in your account under ‘My Tokens’.

Step 2: Access the NECO Result Checking Portal

Once you have your token, proceed to check your results:

  1. Visit the NECO Result Checking Portal at https://result.neco.gov.ng.
  2. A form will appear on the homepage for you to enter your exam details.

Step 3: Enter Your Exam Information

Fill out the form carefully with the following details:

  • Exam Year: Select 2024 (or the relevant year).
  • Exam Type: Choose the appropriate exam type, such as SSCE Internal (JUN/JUL) or
  • Exam Type: Choose the appropriate exam type, such as SSCE Internal (JUN/JUL) or SSCE External (NOV/DEC). External (NOV/DEC).
  • Token Number: Input the token number you purchased in Step 1.
  • Examination/Registration Number: Enter your NECO exam number.

Finally, click the “Check My Result” button to view your results.

Please note that each token can be used up to five times to check the same result. If further verification is needed, candidates can use NECO’s E-Verify portal.
