The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has commended one of its employees, Auwal Dankode, for his remarkable honesty after he discovered and returned $10,000 while cleaning an aircraft in Kano.
In an official statement released on Saturday, NAHCO recognized Dankode, a native of Kano, at the company’s headquarters at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, highlighting his exceptional transparency and integrity.
Dankode was on duty with his colleagues cleaning an Egypt Air MS 878 flight at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport last Wednesday when he found the cash left behind by a passenger in seat No. 25H. Without hesitation, he handed the money over to the airline’s Station Manager.
NAHCO’s Group Managing Director and CEO, Indranil Gupta, praised Dankode for exemplifying the core values of the company and announced several rewards in recognition of his honesty. These rewards included a substantial cash prize, an immediate promotion, and an appointment as NAHCO’s Brand Ambassador.
During the recognition ceremony, Gupta expressed his pride in Dankode, stating, “We are truly proud of the exemplary character Auwal has displayed. He is a true ambassador of NAHCO and embodies the principles of honesty, integrity, diligence, and hard work that we stand for.

Other NAHCO executives also praised Dankode’s actions. Chief Financial Officer Adeoye Emiloju emphasized that such integrity cannot be pretended, while Chief Operating Officer Didier Steullet encouraged Dankode to stay on his honorable path.
As NAHCO’s newly appointed Brand Ambassador, Dankode will now represent the company at all major events nationwide, help promote the NAHCO brand, and have opportunities to travel and engage with senior officials and stakeholders.
