Tyrese Gibson has revealed that his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, has requested a significant increase in her monthly child support payments following his candid interview on The Breakfast Club.
During the interview, the actor and musician opened up about the emotional toll his divorce from Samantha took on him.
In a recent Instagram Live stream, Tyrese expressed frustration over the situation, noting that while many people reached out to support him after the interview, Samantha has yet to take responsibility for the “trauma” he claims she caused during their relationship. He disclosed that Samantha is now seeking $40,000 per month in child support.
Tyrese explained that Samantha initially requested $20,000 but has since doubled the amount after noticing the success of his recent films and concerts. He stated, “I just got another letter from her lawyers, requesting that I send over all of my tax returns and bank statements because she’s trying to get $20,000. I think they’re trying to take it up to, like, $40,000. They’ve been looking at all of my movies and all of the concerts I’ve been doing, and they’re over there like blood-sucking lawyers rubbing their hands. And Samantha’s doing the same thing, rubbing her hands. They’re saying, ‘For the last year and a half, he looks like he’s been doing really well.'”
Tyrese further claimed that Samantha, who divorced him four years ago, earns close to $150,000 annually from her social media activities. However, her attorney allegedly stated that they have only received $5,000 for representing her over the last four years, anticipating a larger payout due to Tyrese’s celebrity status.
“I’m out here stressed the fuck out,” Tyrese continued.
“She divorced me, and they’re rubbing their hands over there, hoping I do more concerts, shows, movies… They’re trying to get to the bottom of what actual money is in my bank account so they can put it in their law firm’s pockets. This is a dirty fucking game out here, ain’t it? Welp, y’all keep waiting.”
Tyrese also accused the judge in his divorce case of making “illegal” judgments, which he is currently appealing.
