The Presidency has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s belief that the youth are not just leaders of tomorrow but of today.
Rinsola Abiola, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, emphasized this viewpoint during an appearance on AIT Weekend Show on Saturday.
Abiola highlighted that the federal government’s programs are specifically designed to address the needs and challenges faced by Nigerian youths. “President Bola Tinubu truly cares about the young people of Nigeria,” Abiola stated.
“He sees them as leaders of today, not just tomorrow. This administration is deeply committed to prioritizing and addressing the concerns of young citizens.”
She pointed out recent improvements in commodity prices as evidence of the government’s successful initiatives. “For instance, the price of a bag of tomatoes and peppers has dropped from around ₦180,000 to ₦32,000, reflecting the positive impact of our government’s actions,” Abiola noted.
Abiola also discussed the administration’s efforts to combat corruption, stating that funds recovered from corruption cases are being reinvested into social programs. “The government has redirected money recovered from corruption into initiatives like the national educational loan fund and credit corporation,” she said. “₦50 billion from these recovered funds has been allocated to these schemes, demonstrating President Tinubu’s commitment to making Nigeria’s resources work for its people.”
She urged young Nigerians to take advantage of the available initiatives, emphasizing that these programs are designed to benefit them directly. “These efforts are intended to support and empower the youth,” Abiola added. “I encourage all young people to engage with and benefit from these opportunities.”
