The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has issued a cautionary message to its congregation regarding the upcoming nationwide protest against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The church has explicitly advised its members across Nigeria to refrain from joining the protest. In an official statement released by ECWA’s Public Relations Officer, Rev. Ibrahim Kassim, the church distanced itself from the planned protest and urged its members to ignore the call to action.

“ECWA as a denomination wishes to inform the general public that we are not part of the planned protest, and we are calling on our members to disregard the action in totality and not to participate in any way,” the statement read.

Rev. Kassim highlighted the potential risks associated with protests in Nigeria, referencing the EndSARS movement where hoodlums infiltrated peaceful demonstrations, resulting in significant loss of life and property. Given the volatile nature of protests and the possibility of them being hijacked by miscreants, ECWA’s leadership is urging its members to stay away from any protest activities.

The statement also reassured members that the church leadership is actively engaged in advising local, state, and federal governments to take swift and effective measures to address the hardships faced by citizens. ECWA emphasized its commitment to peaceful advocacy and constructive dialogue in seeking solutions to the nation’s challenges.
