Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and prominent #RevolutionNow activist, has released a list of political figures he claims are pushing Nigerians towards nationwide protests.

In a post on his X account on Sunday, Sowore accused these leaders of fostering conditions that incite public unrest.

Sowore specifically named President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas as key figures allegedly driving Nigerians to the brink of rioting. He also included Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Yemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), among others.

Sowore’s post outlined his accusations as follows:

  1. Ahmed Bola Tinubu: Accused of massive corruption, election rigging, and implementing harmful economic policies since assuming office on May 29, 2023.
  2. Senator Godswill Akpabio and Speaker Tajudeen Abbas: Criticized for leading what Sowore described as the “most useless Senate and House of Representatives.”
  3. Yemi Cardoso (CBN Governor): Blamed for the devaluation of the Naira.
  4. IG of Police, Kayode Egbetokun: Accused of reducing the police force to a corrupt institution.
  5. Chairman of EFCC: Alleged to allow corruption to flourish by targeting minor offenders while ignoring significant financial criminals.
  6. GMD of NNPC: Accused of embezzling over $3.8 billion through a subsidy scam.
  7. Chief of the Nigerian Army: Alleged to be colluding with bandits and terrorists, sabotaging national security.
  8. Chief of the Nigerian Navy: Accused of working with crude oil thieves, denying Nigeria vital revenue.
  9. Comptroller General of Customs: Alleged to collaborate with cross-border criminals, costing Nigeria billions in excise and duties.
  10. Judges: Accused of accepting bribes to corrupt the judicial process.
  11. INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu: Blamed for organizing flawed elections that brought the current leaders to power.
