The Kano State High Court 17 has issued a permanent injunction that bars Aminu Ado Bayero and the four deposed Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Gaya, and Karaye from assuming the title of Emir.

Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu, presiding over the court, ruled on Monday that the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, and the Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Gaya, and Karaye, along with their affiliates, agents, and any individuals appointed by them, are prohibited from representing themselves as Emirs of Kano, Bichi, Gaya, Rano, and Karaye.

This decision follows a legal action taken by the Kano State government, which requested the court to restrict the aforementioned individuals from presenting themselves as traditional rulers.

The Kano State government has also directed the deposed Emirs to vacate their respective palaces within 48 hours of their dethronement.
