The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has maintained that the new national anthem it released last week is accurate, despite criticisms from Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who pointed out perceived errors in lines three, five, and 18 during Tuesday’s plenary session.
In response, the Director-General of NOA, Lanre Issa-Onilu, through a statement issued by the agency’s Deputy Director of Press, Paul Odenyi, asserted that the lyrics released by the NOA are indeed the corrected version approved by President Bola Tinubu. Issa-Onilu suggested that the Senate President had been misled in his assessment.
“The official version that we issued remains the correct lyrics,” the statement read.
“We are making efforts to standardize the instrumental and audio versions before releasing them to the public.”
