ACC Criticizes President Tinubu’s Administration on Democracy Day

The Allied Conservative Congress (ACC) has voiced strong criticism of the current state of Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. In a Democracy Day message on June 12, marking 25 years of uninterrupted democracy, the ACC highlighted widespread hunger and confusion within the government.

The ACC called on Nigerians to endure the economic challenges and advocated for rebuilding the nation on conservative values such as integrity, morality, probity, equity, unity, security, and prosperity. The political group underscored the importance of June 12 as a symbol of Nigeria’s commitment to democracy.

In a statement signed by its National Secretary, Alhaji Lawal Mohammed, the ACC described its formation as a unifying platform for democrats aiming to rescue Nigeria from threats posed by non-state actors. The group emphasized the need to revitalize the country and restore true democracy.

“ACC salutes Nigerians for their resilience in sustaining democratic ideals, ethics, and ethos despite numerous challenges due to inept leadership,” the statement read.

“Our confidence in constitutional rule is unshaken. We must make our democracy work for the good of the masses.”

The ACC criticized the current state of the nation, claiming that governments at all levels have neglected their constitutional duties, leading to a perilous course marked by terrorism, economic stagnation, ethnic tensions, corruption, and ineffective leadership.

“There is hunger in the land and confusion in governance. It is a trying period as the nation gropes in the dark,” the statement continued.

“ACC identifies with the masses in this difficult period of our nationhood and assures them of a brighter future. The movement urges Nigerians to be hopeful and prayerful as we collectively hold governments accountable.”

The ACC expressed optimism about its future, anticipating registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission as a political party with a conservative ideology. The group aims to provide ethical leadership, create wealth, revive the economy, ensure political stability, and foster unity and development.

“We urge Nigerians to join ACC and contribute to building a new and better democratic society,”

“ACC will participate in the 2027 general election and field credible, competent, and visionary candidates to address insecurity, economic recession, political upheavals, unemployment, and hardship. Nigerians need compassionate leaders with the milk of human kindness and a conservative ideology.”

The ACC concluded by extending early Eid-ul-Kabeer greetings to Muslim Nigerians and reaffirmed its commitment to displacing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and rescuing Nigeria from its current state.
