In the wake of his resounding victory in Russia’s presidential election, Vladimir Putin has issued a stark warning, asserting that direct conflict between Russia and NATO could plunge the world into the abyss of World War Three.

With 87.8 percent of the votes secured, Putin’s triumph was overshadowed by international criticism over the fairness of the election process. Several nations, including the US, Germany, and the UK, raised concerns over political repression and censorship, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the results.

Speaking in a post-election briefing, Putin emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “It is clear to everyone that this will be one step away from a full-scale World War Three. I think hardly anyone is interested in this.”

Tensions have escalated further with French President Emmanuel Macron’s mention of the potential deployment of ground troops in Ukraine. When questioned about Macron’s remarks and the looming conflict with NATO, Putin remarked, “Everything is possible in the modern world,” underscoring the presence of NATO servicemen in Ukraine.

Putin had previously cautioned against the deployment of US troops to Ukraine, warning that it would be viewed as a significant escalation. He also reiterated Russia’s readiness for nuclear conflict, heightening concerns about the potential consequences of military confrontation.

In response to Putin’s remarks, Macron urged restraint, highlighting the dangers posed by nuclear arsenals. He revealed that dialogue with Putin had been sparse in recent months, occurring only when deemed absolutely necessary.

As tensions continue to simmer, the international community remains on edge, grappling with the implications of a potential escalation in the standoff between Russia and NATO.
