President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extended his condolences to the family of the late former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, during a solemn visit on Wednesday. The President’s arrival in Owo town was met with a reception by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami.
Upon his arrival, President Tinubu, accompanied by Governor Aiyedatiwa, proceeded directly to the residence of the late Akeredolu. They were warmly welcomed by Betty Akeredolu, the widow of the former governor, along with his children.
Tinubu eulogized the late governor, portraying him as a courageous advocate for good governance in Nigeria. He expressed heartfelt sympathies to the Akeredolu family, offering prayers for strength during this difficult period of irreparable loss.
Rotimi Akeredolu, who passed away at the age of 67 in December 2023 after a prolonged illness in Germany, was laid to rest on February 23 in his hometown of Owo, Ondo State.
