In a shocking and tragic turn of events, suspected criminals attacked Abdullahi Supermarket in One Man Village near Mararaba on Tuesday evening, leaving four customers dead, including an employee of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The CBN staff, identified as Daniel Adefemi Okunade through his official identity card, was fatally shot in the head during the robbery and succumbed to his injuries instantly. The identities of the other three victims remain unknown at the time of this report.

According to an eyewitness, the ruthless robbery unfolded in less than two minutes. The CBN staff, also known as the choir master of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in One Man Village, had reportedly stopped by the supermarket to purchase bread for his family when the assailants entered the busy store, claiming the lives of the four customers.

Remarkably, the criminals did not target the Toyota Venza car belonging to the late Okunade, which was parked outside the supermarket.

The late Okunade, described as a dedicated choir master, met his untimely demise on his way home from work.

As of now, the atmosphere in the area is tense, with people streaming into the supermarket to identify the victims of the robbery. Police operatives from the New Nyayan Divisional Police Station have transported the corpses to the Mararaba Medical Center mortuary.

Official information from the police regarding the incident is yet to be released, leaving the community in suspense and grief. Sympathizers, including church members, have been pouring into the late CBN staff’s residence to express condolences and support for his grieving family.

The tragic incident serves as a harsh reminder of the security challenges faced by communities and businesses, urging authorities to take swift action to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent such heinous crimes in the future.
