President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria has expressed his deep sympathy to the Canadian government, the diplomatic community, and all those affected by a devastating fire incident that occurred at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja on Monday.

In a statement issued by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu assured the Canadian authorities of the full support and assistance of the Nigerian government, particularly for the diplomatic and local staff of the High Commission who were significantly impacted by the unfortunate incident.

The President also conveyed his heartfelt prayers for the repose of the departed souls and extended his best wishes for a rapid and complete recovery to all those injured in the fire incident.

The fire incident has sparked concern and solidarity between the two nations, highlighting the importance of international collaboration during times of crisis. As investigations into the cause of the fire are underway, both governments are expected to work closely to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected by this tragic event.

This gesture of support from President Tinubu underscores the strong diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Canada and reaffirms the commitment to providing assistance in times of adversity.
