Governor Otti disclosed that his administration is working discreetly to secure Nnamdi Kanu’s release by employing an alternative approach, although he did not provide specific details to the media. Otti emphasized that this different strategy would not be made public until it achieves the desired results.
In a recent media parley in Umuahia, Abia State Governor Alex Otti expressed his view that the administration of President Bola Tinubu should not be held responsible for the ongoing incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
He stated, “I believe in results rather than media hype. We do not want media noise. We are working very hard to ensure his (Kanu’s) release. My personal position is that the new government does not need to inherit the wrong things of the previous administration.”
Meanwhile, during the same media chat, Governor Alex Otti revealed a disturbing discovery of more than 50 decomposed dead bodies, over 20 headless bodies, and numerous human skeletons in the vicinity of the Lokpanta Cattle Market, situated along the Enugu-Umuahia-Aba Port Harcourt Expressway in Umunneochi Local Government Area.
Governor Otti indicated that his government is committed to addressing security issues proactively, regardless of the consequences. He linked the presence of prostitution, narcotics trade, and other criminal activities around the Lokpanta Cattle Market to the recent raid on the area. Some brothels have been demolished, resulting in improved security in Umunneochi.
The Governor further announced plans to transform the Lokpanta market into a daily market, operating from 6 am to 6 pm, with designated sections for cattle dealers and other businesses, thereby expanding its functionality and scope.
